Hi, this is the very first blog post in the Thoughtist. The main motivation for the existence of this blog is to write about philosophy of natural and artificial intelligence; in particular, to discuss the main ideas behind Thoughtism.
Thoughtism is the idea that intelligence is the result of the generation of thoughts, and these in turn are the result of the manipulation of symbols or concepts within the mind. In following posts we will deepen on such definitions in order to establish clear boundaries between Thoughtism and the symbolist school of thought in Artificial Intelligence.
